Late Night Equal Early Mornings

badmoonrisingBad Moon Rising: Oh wow! Awesome, awesome, AWESOME BOOK!

I started this book around 3pm and finished it just after midnight. Um, no, I’m not obsessed with the Dark Hunter series. I swear. Okay, even I can’t keep a straight face while I say that. This recent installment is the story of Fang Kattalaskis and Aimee Peltier. Fang is a Were-Hunter who’s animal form is a wolf. Aimee is also a Were-Hunter but her animal form is a bear.

There’s a lot of back story and a bit of repetition to the story, but you get a different view of the whole story.

As Sherrilyn Kenyon put (in a REPLY TO ME!!):

Most of what we've seen of Fang is him in a coma. But when not being trapped, he's something else. Think of the fights in NE.

NOTICE: I will now be sharing spoilers, so if you haven’t read the book and plan to, you might want to mosey along now!

We start off with how Fang and Aimee met. He saves her (duh), but in the process we find out that he was the reason that Anya (his sister) was going to die because of her mate dying (they were bonded). Fang’s intervention set into motion what brought about the death of his sister. We learned in Talon's book what brought about the rest of Fang and Vane’s destruction, when Vane protects Sunshine.

It also tells about what was really going on with Fang while he was “comatose”. The Daimons actually got a chunk of his soul, and he was stuck in limbo. To live again, someone had to kill the Daimons that attacked him. Since Vane just thought that Fang’s coming to him was a dream, the task fell to Aimee. [Oh and before I forget, Aimee and the quads are Arcadian, and that Aimee did a Vane and switched at puberty … Aubert (her father) is an Arcadian)] Fang made a deal with Thorn (son of Lucifer … yes, that Lucifer), in which he sold his soul to protect Aimee.

Well, his first “job” is to send some demon back to where he came from. Well, Fang kills him. That means he absorbs his powers. Oops, got a demon in ya, bud! Yeah, not a pretty sight. He gets rid of it by sacrificing himself to Savitar for his brother for murders he didn’t commit (in which he is acquitted of, of course!). Then Aimee tries to rescue him during that time and gets the limiani (sp?) revoked permanently on Sanctuary. Oops! Savitar is about ready to kill both of them, but Simi stops him. Yeah, SIMI!! Ash and Valerius are in the book as well, but only small parts.

Basically? The book is awesome! If you decide to read it, though, I suggest starting at the beginning of the series.
