Good lord!! I just hit 10 books for the year already. No, I haven't finished them all. I just started #10 and still need to finish #6 (it's my bedtime book ;))

So, what how is your year going so far?
Josh got a letter from the lawyer hired by State Farm. He has to meet them on the 18th for a prep for the deposition on the 22nd. Fuck! Bitch is still suing him (for those that don't know, in 2007, Josh was rear-ended, then t-boned. Woman who hit him first was driving on a suspended license, and Josh was found *at fault* because he was "driving too fast for the conditions" - 30mph in a 70 during snowy conditions.). She's suing Josh for loss of wages and supposed injuries. Um, stupid bitch, if you hadn't been on the road, like you legally were supposed to be off, you wouldn't have been injured, you wouldn't have ended up in jail, and you wouldn't have lost your job. Hmm, whose real fault is all of this?

Gah! So, we have to miss hours (because they're just going to schedule him 5 days, which means we'll lose that 6th day of pay. *grumble*

Fuck off, Justice System.

People are just sue happy. And many of the lawyers involved with these sort of cases are morons. My father is a self-employed contractor and, several years ago, he decided to add home inspection to the list of things he would do. He got forms made, got involved with a national organization, things were going fine.

Then a woman who'd gotten a house inspection sued him because she did something stupid and fell down the stairs. The house must not have been up to code. "Up to code" isn't what home inspections are for--you sign something signifying you understand that when you get one. The case was filed in the wrong state for a mangled version of the company name. It cost a bit of money for my parents just to hire a lawyer to sort things out.

Hopefully it won't be too much longer for you to get this sorted out. Ironically, I thought being the person doing the rear-ending is 99% the at-fault person, anyway. I can't even see what kind of argument doesn't end in the person to the rear being proven to be a) following too close and/or b) going too fast.

umm..how about fuck off sleazy lady and her sleazy lawyer? Doesn't really have much to do with the justice system. It's not the justice system's fault that the bitch is abusing them. I know, I know - you're pissed and you want to choke someone. I understand. I guess I'm far too reasonable. Sorry! Hopefully, the judge will throw it out. Of course, the sleazeball who sued my mother over an accident (which definitely looked STAGED!) was found that she didn't have any cause for suit and was still awarded $48,000 for her "pain and suffering" by the jury. Assholes. But trust me, I understand about the pay. I lost a day of holiday pay because I went home sick on Monday. We should take out 85% of the trial lawyers and shoot them. Then the remaining ones would only have time remaining to take the cases with cause.

Hmm...did Josh ever think of suing her? She was doing something illegal!
