So ... I'm a slacker
Sunday, 21 October 2012 07:45I don't comment often.
I read! I promise I read.
LJ gets opened at least 2 times a day, minus days that I'm not on the computer.
Lots of things have been going on.
Ethan's officially a Wolf in Boy Scouts. Madi is a Junior.
Popcorn sales are over.
Cookie sales have begun {hit me up if you want some}
( pictures )
That's about it.
CAUGHT UP!
Thursday, 24 November 2011 00:23So, I've been slowly catching up. Tonight (well, LAST NIGHT LOL), I caught up! I'm now 910 words from Day 24 goal, and 802 from 40k!
FINALLY!

Now, back to sprinting before

SLOW GOING
Friday, 4 November 2011 21:51But, I wanted to share some of the NaNoWriMo writings that I did do today:
“Anyways, why are you here so early?”Thanks to
“Anyways,” he parroted. “Did you really just say ‘anyways’?”
“What is wrong with anyways?”
“Nothing, I just found it a little …” his voice trailed off.
“It’s a Midwestern thing. Deal with it,” she told him.
He held his hands up in surrender. “Don’t get your gills in a tizzy,” he told her.
“Gills in a tizzy?” she questioned. “What does that even mean?”
“It’s a West Coast thing,” he told her.
“Next thing I know, you’re going to tell me to ignore the invisible pink unicorn in the room, or something.”
Trevor lifted his hand to his mouth, in mock horror. He looked around, pretending to be making sure the coast was clear. “How did you know about the invisible pink unicorn? That’s a trade secret. No one is to know of it. No one, do you hear me,” he told her, a broad smile lighting up his face.
Alexandria let out a laugh. If even only half the people she was going to be working with had this sense of humor, she was going to have absolutely no problem fitting in. Trevor’s sense of humor reminded her of her brother Stephen, who had just graduated high school. He was the baby of the family, and the one always getting into trouble. He was also the one most likely to talk himself out of trouble, so it usually evened out in the end.

Excerpt From What I Wrote Yesterday
Friday, 4 November 2011 08:42
I really have no desire to continue writing this story. I mean I love what I’m writing, but I just can’t get into what I’m supposed to be writing. The beginnings of this story are boring. If it’s boring to me, it’s going to be boring to others. That’s just how it works. How can I be content to write something that I know is boring? How can I think that it’s okay? Why did I start this?
Well, I know why I started this. I’ve wanted to be a writer since I learned to read. I wanted to inspire another person to love to read, just as the authors that I grew up loving to read inspired me. I want to make the world a little bit more full of love by writing something sweet and sappy.
So, I can do this. I will do this. I will find my inner Yoda and try, try, try and write. Because, damn it, I deserve to do this writing thing. As Chris Baty put it, “The world needs my story.”
Well, eventually. First, I have to get through the bullshit parts I hate to write, so that I can get to the good stuff. The good stuff means that freaking fracking dream sequence.
I will never get this novel completed if Josh doesn’t start just SLEEPING and stop kicking and squirming and scratching. He is seriously starting to just drive me up the freaking wall. I just need some time to write. I’m sorry if I can’t write during the day. I just can’t do it. Deal with it. Now go the fuck to sleep already.
I’m not getting anything done with him constantly squirming and dancing around. He needs to just SEE someone already about it.
Yeah, I had a bit of an emo problem yesterday while writing.
Just One Hour
Monday, 31 October 2011 22:58The time. Where has it gone?
This time tomorrow? I will need 1667 words. Written. Committed. Saved. Back-up.
Where will I be? What will I accomplish? I have no idea.
I will try. I will attempt.
But as Yoda put it best:
There is no try. Only do.
So, I will do. I will do. I will do.
Needing Some Help …
Wednesday, 12 October 2011 20:54or something.
Okay, my story:
She had just moved across the country from everyone she knew and loved. She's given a chance to make some friends, but rebuffs them. She chases her cat, and ends up in another world. To escape this world, she must team up with beings she's never seen before and fight creatures she's never imagined could exist.
--
So, that's the "prewrite" beginning, but I have a question for the middle. It's a romance. So, there has to be sex.
The world she ends up in is Faerun (Dungeons and Dragon world). She's helped by the man she rebuffs. Well, his character anyway.
My question: safe to have sex? See, I'm still not sure if he's going to "remember" what she remembers or not. Maybe she'll just chalk it up to a very erotic dream?
Ideas?
Please. Anything. Seriously.
Well, no mocking :D Not that I think anyone would :D
The Brain Blurbs
Wednesday, 5 October 2011 16:07To see her, you would know that she is used to having things easier in life. It is more than that she is beautiful. Her green eyes shone with a shrewdness, that spoke of the ability to argue a point until the other party gave up.
I can’t turn off my brain. It wanted to write. It’s not long, but I’m slowly seeing my main female character of the #NaNoWriMo :D
I’m excited for this November. I’ve got a “planning” write-in on the 10th, that evening. Josh is off, THANK GOD, so I can go and not have to worry about the kids.
There’s another the 24th, the Kick-Off Hopefully Josh can get off on time for that
Or else I’ll be taking the kids and he’ll be sneaking in to get them
.
I also see there are TWO write-in sessions for my local region! YAY! That’s one more than last year
Besides local stuff, I’m going to be hosting sprints on AIM, through . I'm a new mod there ... for November

Friday, 30 September 2011 12:46The Nerd Emerges Happily
Tuesday, 26 July 2011 09:56So, I was discussing a NaNo idea with Josh. I LOVE the idea of doing a DnD one, but I want a modern twist on it. He helped me semi-flesh out an idea:
IDEA A : The MC is in the "modern" world, and is a gamer, and gets knocked unconscious living out a DnD fantasy "dream".
IDEA B : The MC is asked out by the resident "geek" (who isn't the stereotypical geek, I swear. He doesn't live in his mom's basement ;)). She turns him down, and somehow she ends up in the DnD fantasy world, and the only way to get out/wake-up is with the help of the "geek". She learns a lot about herself, and finds she actually knew more than she thought she did. Or something.
The idea better happen. I just bought TWO books on Amazon to support the idea.
Oh well, if not, Josh wanted them anyways :D
I’m getting good responses:
From @Cylithria: “you know what I Love, love, love the Idea B, but then again I love Idea A too. These are brilliant Sarah (and Josh) now I am all excited to read these. Hurry up and write it already will you? ;)”
From @daisysmiles4you: “I think I like the 2nd one...I always feel kinda of cheated at the end by the first type of plot. They can be very good but to find out that it's all "just a dream"....Ie sigh. shrug … Plus w/the 2nd you could do a bunch with misunderstandings due to jargon and the like real world vs gaming...”
My response to @daisysmiles4you: “I was already coming up with quotes. I can bring in Star Trek, Lord of the Ring, Star Wars, etc into it :-D Alternate universe sounds more fun. :-P”
Fail #NaNoWriMo … sort of
Monday, 8 November 2010 08:37So, I didn’t write a word this weekend. Literally. Not a single word
( More NaNo Stuff )
I Can Has Cuties!
Wednesday, 27 October 2010 09:38

The kids were able to wear their Halloween costumes to school today.
Ethan, obviously, is going as Woody. His costume is a little short. Good thing he has the boots, right? *LOL*
Madison is going as Astrid, from How to Train Your Dragon. She was going to go as Tinkerbell but the costume totally didn’t fit. It said it fit 4-6x. 6x must have REALLY changed because Madi’s in 6s now, and good god, her clothes aren’t THAT baggy. Its like its designed for someone 2-3x her size, around, but her height. That’s kind of scary, honestly. Yeah, I know she’s on the small size for her age, but good LORD. That would be a 65-80lb 7-year-old. We didn’t, all 3 of us in my family, didn’t hit that weight until we were at least 9 or 10. Heck, my brother, until he was SIXTEEN was 4’8” and 65lb, LMAO. He technically should have been in a booster until he was 13, ROFL.
In other news, I’m playing with Scrivener for Windows. Its in BETA. BETA runs out Dec. 12, and the new one comes out. So, yeah. Not sure what I’m gonna write NaNo with, but eh, I’m enjoying trying out new programs!

(no subject)
Friday, 20 November 2009 23:47I wrote just under 8K (about 200 words shy). Kill me now please!
I've got a headache on my right side now, right around my jaw. Fucking sucks.
But, I'm 4 days ahead!!
Day 02: 3981
Day 03: 6021
Day 04: 7006
Yeah, Day 4 I wrote less words than I did on Day 01, but I got my word goal and passed it by 339.
Today's goal is a minimum of 8333. That means I have to write 1327. My goal, personally, is 8500-9000, which means I'd have to write 1494 to 1994 words. Can I do it? We'll see. I'm hacking up a lung today, so I might not be able to do it (it also a new episode of BONES!!
And not that I give a flying poop, but who won the World Series?
Okay, maybe not. :( Fox has been saying "New episode Thursday". What a joke! Stupid lying FOX. It's not even Faux News!!
Otherwise, not much going on, LOL.
NaNo Updates and New Icons
Wednesday, 4 November 2009 15:21Now, on to the NaNo updates:
Day 01: 1001
Day 02: 3981
Day 03: 6021
Day 04 (3:22pm): 6241
Currently:
Alestra passed out when Temper turned into his Faery form.
Cullum hates Alestra because she is a full-blooded Vampiric Human (he's a half breed).
Mmm, fun!!
Day 1 and Day 2 updates
Tuesday, 3 November 2009 07:25Day 2, still had flu and could not concentrate. Josh suggested going into the bedroom and chilling out. So, I did, and opened the Write Or Die Desktop Edition.
The main writing blog got a one paragraph preview of the story, if you want to read it.
*cough*
The flu has moved into my chest, so I'm like, death becomes her right now. At least I feel like that.
Yet, I'm waking up before 7am today and yesterday. Seriously? Who is this person? Shoot, by this time yesterday, I'd already showered. I had showered today before Josh left for work at quarter to seven. Helped with the chest, though!!
