Ouch, originally uploaded by Snap 2 Scrap.

It officially has become too fucking hot in Kansas. The official temp was 106 yesterday. The truck registered 109. After I feed the brats, I'm going to see what the truck is saying today.

The thing is that that doesn't even take into account the humidity. Heat index was near 115-120 yesterday, depending on the area. It was EVEN WORSE for folks like Josh who are stuck in those non-A/C metal trashcans. All the mail carriers have, minus those with the new vans, is a little dinky fan that's loud as hell.

Oh goodness! I hope he's okay! That would be horrific.

Phew! Good deal. Still! Poor guy! I live in the country and our mail carriers are in their own cars. At least they can use air conditioning that way.

Oh my goodness. I'll be sending you guys cool thoughts. It's 90 here with a heat index of 102 and I'm melting. I can't imagine what you're dealing with.

I'm glad to see that he's keeping gallons of water with him. I know that's what was supposedly recommended to the carriers I got heat stroke and heat exhaustion reports on. He does have stuff with salt and sugar - maybe some gatorade to drink from time to time to replace all the other junk he's losing with the water he's sweating out? I also want to know when Kansas got swapped with Nevada. Can I do that with PA in the winter??? *hugz* to you and my best to Josh. I do worry about him when the mail carrier thing comes to mind. :(
