Where Have I Been?

Yeah, I seem to have a problem with regularly updating here.
Maybe I should just copy-pasta when I blog @ TM2TS, but that might be too much work.
Yeah, I’m lazy with that.
Nothing much is going on. We haven’t done too much at all. Josh starts in Topeka on the 10th.
We’ve already gotten word that he’ll be the bottom of two, as one person already made regular.
There’s talk of that PTF making reg (the one currently), and then maybe one more, within a few weeks.
That’s NOT taking into account the carriers who are worried about what this winter will be like, and NOT staying.
So, Josh might be regular by the end of the year. We’ll take the loss of $1 an hour, knowing he has paid holidays
Also, this area doesn’t seem to care about V-Time, simply because they CAN’T! They’re down at least 10 positions.

7/9/11 14:01 (UTC)It's BAD here, too, at least for the carriers. Josh is transferring to a station that has NO PTF's ("part-time" with benefits but few guaranteed hours) or TE's (the temps). *shudder* At least it's not as bad as Lawrence where the carriers don't give a shit about anything but themselves and are running so they can get off at 2pm, instead of 4, and then bitch that their route gets added on to.

7/9/11 14:30 (UTC)Yeah, they're getting more and more "iffy" on rules. Stupid rules are being broken by them. The more grievances against them, apparently, the better management looks :O

7/9/11 14:35 (UTC)Joe runs the express mail, and he's been told that if he can't deliver a package on time he's supposed to scan it as "attempted" before the cut-off and then leave a slip later saying no one was home. Seems like our PO only cares about the paperwork being correct and not the actual work. Joe got written up because he delivered an express on time to a customer but forgot to scan it in one day when he was sick and just...out of it, so even though the package GOT TO THE PERSON ON TIME, he was written up as "failing" the delivery. wtf.

7/9/11 14:40 (UTC)Josh, thankfully, hasn't been written up for things, though he has missed a few scans. Most of the time, it's because he's never "regular" on that route, and they toss him extra pieces and don't always mark down where it's going (because that would mess up their precious times).
Paperwork is Top Priority, always, I've noticed.
